Here at the House of Libido we see a number of items cross our desks every day, and some are just too good not to post. This latest piece, with the catchy title of Active Agent in 'Magic Mushrooms' May Be Therapeutic caught our eye and just would not let go.
Apparently, giving people psilocybin directly into a vein decreases blood flow in certain 'connector hubs' in the brain, which researchers think may allow information to travel more freely through the brain. This probably explains why people's imaginations become move "vivid and animated and the world is experienced as unusual".
Well, now we know just where in the brain the magic happens. Sadly, it will probably be several years before you can get IV psilocybin on request for things like depression and migraines. Or, like, two days, if you know the right people.....
Thanks to digitalblasphemy.com for the above image; their website is just chock-a-block full of neat and interesting art.
