Well, the Super Bowl is over (*yawn*) and now we have to wait almost nine months for more football. (We don't really count Arena Football, although it can be great fun!) Let's see...12 men on the field (11 is the limit) for BOTH teams, a safety to start off the game, and an 'oopsie' touchdown that let the Patriots get the ball back for one last chance...to FAIL! Given the completely underwhelming game that we saw played (these are the Pros? Really?), it's not surprising that the most talked about event during the game was once more during the halftime show.
Surprisingly, it wasn't anything that Madonna did, although the Material Girl turned in a fine performance.
No, the most talked about event the day after was...MIA's flipped finger.
Yep, that's right...the British hip-hop star (and we use the term lightly) flipped off the largest television audience of the year, and NBC MISSED IT!
Now, we won't presume to tell the censors in the truck how to do their jobs (you RETARDS!). Remember the 'wardrobe malfunction' debacle? CBS is STILL fighting with the FCC about the fine for that little incident! Rather, we went looking for the story behind the gesture, and found it here.
Thank you, BBC, for clearing that up.
